Mounds View City Council May 10, 1982 <br />Regular Meeting Page Six <br />Mayor McCarty suggested polling other Cities <br />to see if they would be willing to join Mounds <br />View in any legal action. <br />Doug Wood, of Ramsey County Public Health <br />Department, explained he would be giving <br />a slide presentation the department has put <br />together, showing the process followed in <br />selecting a landfill site. <br />Mr. Wood explained all the counties were <br />required to come up with five potential <br />sites for landfill, with Ramsey County <br />coming up with only two, one in Shoreview <br />and one in Maplewood. He explained that <br />Ramsey County is a smaller area and more <br />densly populated that many other counties, <br />and thus did not have the area available <br />to be considered. Mr. Wood answered <br />questions from the Council after the <br />slide presentation. <br />Commissioner Orth was also present and <br />answered questions from the Council.
