Mounds View City Council May 10, 1982 <br />Regular Meeting Page Five <br />Mayor McCarty announced the City Clean -Up Day <br />would be May 22, and the charge for dumping <br />would be $5 per car or station wagon load, <br />$10 for pick -up trucks, and $10 for home <br />pick -up. <br />Mayor McCarty asked that Mr. Ehlers, of <br />Ehlers and Associates be present at the next <br />agenda session. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty to direct Staff <br />to invite Bob Ehlers from Ehlers and Associates <br />to the agenda session on May 17, 1982. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley asked approval of <br />the purchase of the new police squad car, <br />based upon Chief Grabowski's recommendation. <br />He added that it was in compliance with the <br />specifications. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Blanchard to approve <br />the purchase of the 1982 squad car for $9,622. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported it was the <br />City's initial intent to put a backflow preven- <br />tion valve above ground at Silverview Park, <br />but they have been advised that a below ground <br />valve is now available at approximately $500 <br />additional cost. He stated Staff would <br />recommend the below ground valve as it would <br />increase mowing ease and decrease vandalism. <br />He added there is approximately $8,000 in <br />the project budget to work with. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Hodges to approve Staff's <br />request for a backflow prevention valve, for <br />installation in Silverview Park, at an <br />additional cost of $500 over the original <br />proposal. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Councilmember Doty asked if the City can take <br />legal action to stop the MWCC with their <br />proposed sewer connection. Attorney Meyers <br />replied he would have to review the law they <br />are working under. Clerk /Administrator Pauley <br />added that a similar suit was filed before, <br />with the Court ruling against the party. <br />Motion Carried <br />13.
