Mounds View City Council May 10, 1982 Regular Meeting Page Five Mayor McCarty announced the City Clean -Up Day would be May 22, and the charge for dumping would be $5 per car or station wagon load, $10 for pick -up trucks, and $10 for home pick -up. Mayor McCarty asked that Mr. Ehlers, of Ehlers and Associates be present at the next agenda session. Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty to direct Staff to invite Bob Ehlers from Ehlers and Associates to the agenda session on May 17, 1982. 5 ayes 0 nays Clerk /Administrator Pauley asked approval of the purchase of the new police squad car, based upon Chief Grabowski's recommendation. He added that it was in compliance with the specifications. Motion /Second: McCarty /Blanchard to approve the purchase of the 1982 squad car for $9,622. 5 ayes 0 nays Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported it was the City's initial intent to put a backflow preven- tion valve above ground at Silverview Park, but they have been advised that a below ground valve is now available at approximately $500 additional cost. He stated Staff would recommend the below ground valve as it would increase mowing ease and decrease vandalism. He added there is approximately $8,000 in the project budget to work with. Motion /Second: McCarty /Hodges to approve Staff's request for a backflow prevention valve, for installation in Silverview Park, at an additional cost of $500 over the original proposal. 5 ayes 0 nays Councilmember Doty asked if the City can take legal action to stop the MWCC with their proposed sewer connection. Attorney Meyers replied he would have to review the law they are working under. Clerk /Administrator Pauley added that a similar suit was filed before, with the Court ruling against the party.
