Mounds View City Council May 24, 1982 <br />Regular Meeting Page Seven <br />Motion /Second: Forslund /Blanchard to approve the <br />hiring of Gilman Groberg, Raymond Williams and <br />John Graham for the Public Works Department, as <br />recommended per the memo of May 24, 1982 from <br />the Director of Public Works /Community Development. <br />5 ayes <br />0 nays Motion Carried <br />Attorney Meyers reported he had met *rith the <br />developers of Mounds View Residence, Inc. last <br />week and they had hoped to present a completed <br />contract soon, but have run into what could be <br />a major problem with tax increment financing. <br />He explained a ruling was recently made in a <br />similar situation, where the Court ruled the <br />property in question was tax exempt, which <br />would ruin the proposed financing. He added <br />he will keep the Council posted. <br />10. Report of <br />Attorney <br />Councilmember Hodges reported he will be on 11. Reports of <br />vacation from May 27 to June 6. Councilmembers <br />Councilmember Forslund proposed the dates of <br />June 16 and 17 for a code review between the <br />Planning Commission and City Council. Mayor <br />McCarty replied a date would be set at the next <br />agenda session. It was pointed out that the <br />June 16 and 17 dates would be in conflict with <br />the League of Cities Convention. <br />Peg Mountin stated the Planning Commission would <br />still like the opportunity to review the changes <br />once more before going over them with the Council. <br />Councilmember Forslund pointed out that June 7 <br />is graduation for Irondale High School. <br />Motion /Second: Forslund /Hodges to move the <br />June 7, 1982 agenda meeting to June 8, 1982. <br />5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Councilmember Forslund reported the Planning <br />Commission has requested upcoming agendas for <br />the Council meetings, and suggested that mail <br />boxes could be set up at City Hall whereby they <br />could stop in and pick up the agendas. <br />There was discussion among the Council of the <br />system presently being used to deliver mail to <br />Council and Commission members. <br />
