Mounds View City Council May 24, 1982 Regular. Meeting Page Four Mr. Doelz expressed displeasure with the Council and stated they would build on property they own in Lino Lakes if Mounds View wouldn't grant them a variance. Mayor McCarty closed the public hearing and reopened the regular meeting at 8:11 PM. Motion /Second: Doty /Blanchard to deny the variance request for Arthur L. Doelz, subject to existing codes. 5 ayes 0 nays Olive Miller, 2102 Terrace Drive, stated she was not in favor of a variance being granted, as she would prefer to see unity in the block. Jean Johnson, 2097 Terrace Drive, stated she was the next door neighbor and she had not personally been asked if she would mind an addition to the front of the Doelz's. Motion /Second: McCarty /Hodges to refund one -half of the fees paid for the hearings to the Doelz's. 5 ayes 0 nays Mayor McCarty asked that Item C be removed for discussion. Motion /Second: Doty /Forslund to approve the consent agenda, minus Item C, and waive the reading of the resolutions. 5 ayes 0 nays Motion /Second: McCarty Forslund to table any action on the job description of the Public Works Foreman at this time. 5 ayes 0 nays Motion /Second: McCarty /Blanchard to approve the job description of the Building Inspector, noting that the Building Inspector position will pay a minimum of $19,925.00 in the fiscal year 1982. Further, that the position of Building Zoning Official be terminated and Steven Rose re appointed as Building Inspector subject to the approved job description for that position. In recognition of certain transitional tasks necessary to ensure an efficient transfer of duties formerly performed by the Building Zoning Official, the Building Inspector's salary and the resulting reduction will not be fully implemented at this time.
