Mounds View City Council August 23, 1982 Regular Meeting Page Seven Councilmember Doty reported he had not personally 20. Reports of observed anything while driving by the Hillview Councilmembers Apartments. Councilmember Forslund reported she had received some phone calls regarding clothes which had been discolored by the City water. Councilmember Hodges reported the Northwest Subur- ban Youth Service Bureau is asking each City for a resolution of support, and presented a proposed resolution to the Council. Motion /Second: Hodges /Doty to approve Resolution No. 1484 and waive the reading. 4 ayes 0 nays Mayor McCarty reported he had met with members from the Mounds View School Board and the coordinator for the Mounds View District #621 Senior Citizens for their weekly lunch at the Edgewood Community Center. Mayor McCarty reported he had received a brochure from a well known collection agency regarding collecting delinquent assessments and taxes. At torney Meyers replied he would have to investi- gate further, but that Minnesota law does not allow the collection of these before they are due. The Council directed Staff to check into the delinquent taxes and see who the owners are. Mayor McCarty asked that Chairman Mountin of the Planning Commission be informed of the MAC meeting to be held at 7 PM on August 25. Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty to add as Item 17A disposition of the City contract with Short, Elliott, Hendrickson, engineering consultants. 4 ayes 0 nays Mayor McCarty explained the City is trying to lower its operating costs as much as possible, and now that they have a part -time in -house engineer, they would like to put consulting business out for bid, based on a recommendation from the City Engineer, if it could not be done in house. He explained it was strictly a movement to cut cost, ard in no way is a reflection on the past performance or value of Short, Elliott, Hendrickson to the City. Motion Carried Motion Carried
