Study 4 ayes 0 nays Motion /Second: Forslund /Hodges to have the first reading of Ordinance No. 315 vacating a portion of Fairchild Avenue. 4 ayes 0 nays Clerk /Administrator Pauley read Ordinance No. 315. Councilmember Doty proposed an amendment to the Ordinance. Attorney Meyers explained that an ordinance is law, and should not have a recommenda- tion in it. Mayor McCarty added he felt the proposed amendment was covered already by the Charter. Councilmember Doty decided to withdraw his proposed amendment. Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty to accept the resignation of Patricia Bailey and authorize the hiring of Tammy Turnacliff, at a salary of $3.50 per hour, starting August 24, 1982. 4 ayes 0 nays Motion /Second: Hodges /Doty to approve the payment of $137,084.14 to Dawson Construction, Silver Lake Woods Improvement Project 81 -3. 4 ayes 0 nays Clerk /Administrator Pauley recommended that Staff meet with all the owners of the buildings in a joint meeting to advise them of the complaints and solicit their cooperation in resolving them. The Council discussed the problems being exper- ienced, and the legalities of trying to prosecute. Motion Carried 13.
