Mounds View City Council January 10, 1983 <br />Re &,ulax Meeting Page Three <br />of the ballot counters had caused the budget to go <br />over, but he also noted they were in good repair for <br />the general election. <br />Finance Director Brager reported they had gone <br />through the selection process for an auditing firm <br />to conduct the City audit, and they have entered <br />into a three year contract. They hope to have the <br />audit report to the Council by May 1. <br />Finance Director Brager reported the delinquency rate <br />on property taxes is much greater than they had esti- <br />mated, but he also noted that the expected reduction <br />of State Aid was planned for $35,000 and is actually <br />$14,181. He also reported the City had $41,040 excess <br />in income over expenses for 1982. <br />Mayor McCarty asked the status of the fixed asset <br />study. Finance Director Brager replied that in fol- <br />lowing up, he found they had not received his first <br />letter, so he sent them a copy, and has just received <br />their response. He stated it will be placed for <br />discussion at an upcoming agenda session. <br />Park Director Anderson reported the three new park <br />shelter buildings are working out well, but some <br />doors which have glass will have to be replaced <br />with plexiglass. <br />He reported they have now closed out Silver View Park, <br />Phase I Development, and are an estimated $7,000 to <br />$9,000 under budget, with everything being completed <br />as outlined in the initial agreement. <br />Park Director Anderson reported they are having a <br />difficult time catching up with the winter skating <br />program, due to the weather. <br />He reported the Rec Department had it's first play <br />production of the Mounds View Children's Theater, <br />with close to 400 attendees, and plans for a spring <br />play. He also reported two City Newsletters have been <br />sent out in the past quarter, and reminded the Council <br />the deadline is coming up for the next newsletter. <br />Park Director Anderson stated he would like to change <br />the format of his quarterly report, and cover one of <br />iris four departments more extensively in each report, <br />thus covering them all within a year, beginning with <br />the Forestry Department. <br />Park Director Anderson reported the Joint Powers Agree- <br />ment is working extremely well; the tree losses for <br />1982 were 218, down a great deal from 1981; they are <br />in the process of putting tree contractor bids together <br />now, with the cost decreased from 1981; four major <br />
