Mounds View City Council January 24, 1983 <br />Regular Meeting Page Five <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty that the City Council <br />requests Mr. Donald R. Stockdale to implement the <br />necessary steps to put on hold the expenditure of <br />funds to install a REIL system at the Anoka County <br />Airport on Runway 35 until such time as the <br />adoption of a master plan for the Anoka County <br />Airport has been completed and adopted, and further, <br />that Mr. Stockdale confer with Mr. Finney at his <br />earliest convenience to establish whether Mr. Finney <br />from the MAC supports the installation of the REIL <br />system at this time. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor McCarty presented the Council with copies of a <br />printed, addressed post card that could be included in <br />the next City newsletter, which could be signed and <br />sent in, stating opposition to the airport expansion. <br />He explained he would write an article to go along <br />with the postcard, explaining it, and would present <br />it to the Council for their approval on January 31, <br />which would still be in time for the newsletter. <br />Motion /Second: Doty /Linke to insert in the newsletter <br />the pre addressed postcard to the legislator of District <br />62, with the article on the Anoka County Airport. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained the propane <br />conversion would not be a major problem or expense, <br />and recommended the purchase of the Crown Victoria <br />"S" from Minar Ford, with the addition of the gauge <br />package and 100 amp alternator, for a total hid of <br />.9,866.25. <br />Motion /Second: Doty /Hankner to approve the acceptance <br />of the Ford Crown Victoria S in the amount of $9,866.25, <br />by Minar Ford, with the funding to come from the <br />general fund. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty to table any action oa <br />this item until such time as Staff can provide to <br />the Council information on the safety of angular <br />parking rather than perpendicular. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Motion Carried <br />Motion Carried <br />10.
