Mounds View City Council July 11, 1983 Regular Meeting Page Six were planted, along with 950 trees, with 75 trees being designated as diseased. Park Director Anderson reported interviews have been proceeding for the part time aquatics instructor. He also reported that a grant had been received for Silver View Park, for $33,228, to do additional landscaping, and that he hopes to be able to modify it to do trail development. Park Director Anderson reported a great deal of time had gone into the Festival in the Park, which they felt turned out great. He reported there are currently 120 employees working in the Park, Recreation and Forestry department, including volunteers, and he has been very busy coor- dinating all of them. He started he would like to commend Mary Saarion for all her extra time put in, as well as the whole staff in general. Director Johnson reported that Staff is attempting to pull together information for the Council on a golf course. He reported that 113 building permits were issued, 32 mechanical permits, 17 HRA inspections, 72 housing unit inspections, 72 re- inspections, and 16 planning applications were received, with revenue from the building permits alone being a' at 100% of what was e_Yp=.1cted for the year, and the other areas being at at least 507. He reported that Knollwood Green and the 8 unit cond.o- Hiniums that Mary Anderson is building, will be part of the Parade of Homes in August. Director Johnson reported that Well #6, Treatment Plant #3 and Treatment Plant #1 work has all been completed. He reported the sewer department has reviewed the footage and determined some repair work is needed, with two emergency repairs already having been done. Director Johnson reported the street sweeping was completed, and that 5 tons of tar have been put into potholes. He reviewed the LP conversion status, and the training which has been completed by employees, and the personnel hired. Director Johnson reported that the water fund for materials and supplies, will have an anticipated overrun of approximately $3,000, with the original budget being $5,934. Director Johnson reviewed the hours completed to date by himself, and the projects involved.
