Mounds View City Council July 25, 1983 <br />Regular Meeting Page Eight <br />,Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained the problem that <br />had occurred with vandalism to the water shut -off valve, <br />and that the work should be done before the water and <br />sewer approval is given. He stated he would contact <br />the developer and have him put some fill in temporarily. <br />Councilmember Hankner had no report. <br />Co-ncilmember Linke reported he had attended the <br />Ramsey County League picnic on July 20, and toured <br />five regional parks. He stated their next meeting <br />would be with the Metro Waste Control Commission, <br />a change in agenda from the Watershed. <br />Councilmember Linke reported that he had ridden with <br />three patrol officers on July 16, and felt they did <br />a very good job. <br />Mayor McCarty read a portion of the June 20 minutes <br />of the Metropolitan Airport Commission. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Blanchard that the Council <br />direct Staff to send a letter of protest to the <br />Metropolitan Airport Commission, carbon copy to <br />the Met Council, that the proposed instrument <br />landing system at a minor use airport is not allowed <br />by law and that the City protests this proposal. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Councilmember Linke reported he had met the new <br />rep from the Met Council and invited her to contact <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley to set up a meeting <br />between her and the Council. <br />Mayor McCarty asked Clerk /Administrator Pauley to <br />notify the Fire Department that the Council wishes <br />to have a work session with the Fire Chief, along <br />with officials from Spring Lake Park and Blaine, <br />and get involved immediately on the proposed 1984 <br />Fire Department budget. He added that the appro- <br />priate section of his contract could be noted. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reviewed the memo from <br />Finance Director Brager, dated July 25, regarding <br />certification of delinquent utility bills. <br />Mayor McCarty stated he would like to be informed <br />of who was involved, before the hearing, such as <br />if there were specific problems with the elderly, <br />Dr so forth. Clerk /Administrator Pauley replied <br />they have all been advised, through each piece of <br />correspondence sent, to contact the City and let <br />them know of any circumstances in which assistance <br />could be provided..
