Mounds View City Council July 25, 1983 Regular Meeting Page Three `He stated that the conference Mr. Anderson would like to attend, the 1983 National Recreation and Park Association Park Planning and Maintenance School, appears to be far more valuable to the City than the NRPA. Mayor McCarty stated that conferences for department heads were cut to reduce expenses in 1982. Also, he felt this should be budgeted in Park, 360, instead of the Recreation, 350, account. Clerk /Administrator Pauley replied that it is in the general fund budget, in the Park and Rec category. Motion /Second: Hankner /Linke to approve the request of Park Director Anderson to attend the first year of the two year program of the NRPA Park Planning and Maintenance School, to be budgeted out of the 1983 conference budget, Account No. 4362, in lieu of his budgeted conference. 4 ayes 0 nays Mayor McCarty closed the regular meeting and opened the second public hearing at 7:50 PM. There were no comments from those present, or from the Council or Staff. Mayor McCarty closed the public hearing and reopened the regular meeting at 7:50 PM. Motion /Second: Blanchard /Hankner to approve Reso- lution No. 1635, approving the preliminary plat for the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, and waive the reading. 4 ayes 0 nays Dennis Kowalik, 5464 Adams, apologized for being late with his questions, but asked for a clarification of what was being done. Director Johnson explained that the Church has re- quested a lot combination of five lots into two, to be able to sell an existing educational building located at the south end of the property. He added that his understanding is that they plan to come before the City soon with plans for a building to house educational facilities.
