Mounds View City Council September Regular Meeting Page Six Motion /Second: Doty /Linke to table Ordinance No. 349 and reirgw at the next agenda session. 5 ayes 0 nays Motion /Second: Doty /Linke to have the second read- ing and adoption of Ordinance No. 347, amending the municipal code of Mounds View by Chapter 1, entitled "General Provisions of Code" and Chapter 202, entitled "Snowmobiles", and waive the reading of the ordinance. 5 ayes 0 nays Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember Mayor McCarty Linke aye Hankner aye Blanchard aye Doty aye aye Motion /Second: Linke /Hankner to accept the three names from the Civil Service Commission as can didates for the Police Chief position. Motion /Second: Linke /Hankner to table the appoint- ment for the choice of Police Chief until the next regularly scheduled Council meeting. 5 ayes 0 nays Councilmember Hankner explained that the Council had appointments to meet with the three finalists on September 27. Attorney Meyers advised that the three finalists should be notified of their selection, and that once the naves have been certified by the Council, they have a reasonable time to do so. Mayor McCarty questioned whether another 90 day extension could be granted. Attorney Meyers advised that it could. Motion /Second: McCarty /Blanchard to reappoint Timothy Smith as Acting Police Chief, for a period up to 90 days, or until the new Chief assumes the position, whichever comes first. 5 ayes 0 nays 8. 1st Reading ,o Ordinance No. 349 Motion Carrie 9. 2nd Readi Adoption o Ordinance No 347 Motion Carried 10.
