Mounds View City Council January 9, 1984 <br />Regular Meeting Page Four <br />Attorney Meyers recommended a letter be sent to the <br />low bidder, explainingthe situation and why his bid <br />was rejected. <br />Councilmember Linke had no report. 10. Reports of <br />Councilmembers <br />Councilmember Hankner reported she had tried out <br />the cross country ski trails around Silver View <br />Park, and found them very enjoyable except for <br />where snowmobiles had gone through and ruined the <br />track for the skiers. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported that notices <br />have been published on the snowmobile ordinance <br />in the City Newsletter, and the Police have found <br />it nearly impossible to control the problem. <br />Mayor McCarty asked that a notice be sent to the <br />Police Department, advising them of this particular <br />problem. <br />Councilmember Blanchard had no report. <br />Councilmember Doty reported the Park and Rec <br />Commission met on January 5 and discussed the new <br />program for fitness and health. He also advised <br />that the City is in a good position to receive a <br />grant for $2,500 for a fitness trail, with the <br />total cost of a trail to be approximately $7,500, <br />and that Park Director Anderson has suggested <br />approaching Burger King to see if they would be <br />willing to sponsor the trail. <br />Mayor McCarty reported he was ready to bring before <br />the Council for their consideration Commissioners <br />would would like to continue their service to the <br />City. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Blanchard to reappoint to <br />three year terms on the Planning Commission, Peg <br />Mountin as Chairman for 1984, and Josey Warren. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty to reappoint to the <br />Park and Rec Commission, for a 3 year term, Wayne <br />Burmeister as Chairman, Ed Letendre, Wayne Weflen, <br />and Frank Silvis. <br />5 ayes <br />Motion Carried <br />0 nays Motion Carried <br />
