Mounds View City Council April 23, 1984 <br />Regular Meeting Page Ten <br />founcilmember Linke noted that while the Council has a <br />u11 resume and background information on the applicant <br />for the administrative secretary, it has no information <br />at all on the applicants for police officer. <br />Councilmember Blanchard stated they have the Police <br />Civil Service Commission to make the recommendation to <br />them. <br />Mayor McCarty stated the statute gives them the authority <br />to hire the police officers. <br />Councilmember Linke stated it gives them the authority to <br />recommend candidates, not hire one. <br />Councilmember Hankner pointed out that nothing says <br />they cannot provide the information to the Council, and <br />it is the Council who is legally liable with hiring <br />an officer, not the Civil Service Commission. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported an arbitrator has <br />been chosen for the 320 contract. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported information was <br />provided in the Council packet on the TAC meeting last <br />week. He added he would be attending a transporation <br />dvisory meeting on Friday at the Crystal City Hall. <br />Motion /Second: Doty /Blanchard to adjourn the meeting 15.
