PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />The Mounds View City Council was called <br />to order by Mayor McCarty at 7:30 p.m. <br />on August 27, 1984. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was said. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Cour.cilmembers Doty, <br />Linke, Hankner, Blanchard and Mayor <br />McCarty. <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney Meyers and <br />Clerk- Administrator Pauley. <br />Motion /Second: Hankner /Linke to approve <br />the August 13, 1984 minutes as <br />corrected. <br />4 ayes 0 nays 1 abstention <br />Councilmember Doty abstained from the <br />vote as he had not been present at the <br />August 13 meeting. <br />Dennis Pietrini, 8434 Sunnyside Road, <br />read a prepared statement regarding the <br />airport issue, stating that he feels <br />nothing is being done by the Council to <br />stop the expansion of the airport. He <br />also presented a resolution to the <br />Council, asking that they adopt it this <br />evening, with his proposed strategy for <br />handling the issue. <br />Regular Meeting <br />August 27, 1984 <br />Mounds View City Hall <br />2401 Hwy. 10. Mounds View, MN 55112 <br />Councilmember Linke stated it was his <br />opinion that Mr. Merritt's contract with <br />the City is still in force, and that when <br />meetings on the environmental question come <br />up, he will represent the City. <br />Councilmember Hankner stated she felt that <br />the City cannot proceed with a lawsuit <br />unless there is a basis to sue, and at this <br />time there is no ILS in place, which makes <br />it difficult to sue. She added that she felt <br />very little can be done until an environmental <br />impact statement is in hand. She also explained <br />that the Master Plan had been adopted last fall, <br />and nothing has been done to date, with no plans <br />for construction until 1985. <br />APPROVED 9/24/84 <br />1.
