Mounds View City Council February 17:, 1985 <br />Regular Meeting Page Four <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained Staff has spent <br />approximately two months evaluating the signs in the <br />City and doing traffic counts. He also reviewed <br />Staff's recommendation to the City Council. <br />Alice Fritz, 8072 Long Lake Road, asked if the cars <br />in violation were ticketed. <br />Chief Ramacher stated that if they were parked in a <br />no- parking zone, he believed they would have been <br />tagged. <br />Mr. Fritz asked if the residents were allowed to park <br />along the road easement on Long Lake Road, off the <br />pavement. Chief Ramacher replied that according to <br />the ordinance, they cannot park on the boulevard. <br />However, if someone is expecting a large group of <br />people, they can contact the Police Department and <br />request an exception be made for the occasion. <br />Barb Haake, 3024 County Road I, stated she had contacted <br />the Police before for just such a situation and found <br />them to be very cooperative. <br />Mayor Linke closed the informational meeting at 8:11 PM. <br />Motion /Second: Blanchard /Quick to adopt the recommen- <br />dations from Staff dated February 1, 1985 and have <br />them implemented by June 1, 1985. <br />3 ayes 0 nays <br />Councilmember Blanchard asked if the Police could also <br />check the signs on county roads. Clerk /Administrator <br />Pauley replied they will contact the county_ and ask <br />them to do it. <br />Attorney Karney reported there had been no decision 11. Report of <br />reached yet in the Higireay 10 Radiator case. Attorney <br />Councilmember Blanchard reported she had attended an 12. Reports of <br />energy workshop on February 9, and found it very Councilmembers <br />informative. <br />Councilmember Quick reported he had attended the <br />conference for newly elected officials on February <br />9 and found it very informative. <br />Mayor Linke reported the City had received notice <br />from the National Arbour Day Foundation that Mounds <br />View has been named Tree City USA, for the third <br />year running. The award will be presented on <br />Arbour Day. Mayor Linke expressed appreciation <br />for the great job done by the forester. <br />Motion Carried <br />
