Mounds View City Council March 11, 1985 <br />Regular Meeting Page Three <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reviewed the need for <br />proposed Ordinance No. 386, explaining that Federal <br />law overrides the Charter. <br />Motion /Second: Quick /Hankner to approve the first <br />reading of Ordinance No. 386, amending Ordinance <br />No. 319 granting a franchise to Group W Cable of <br />the North Suburbs, Inc., a Minnesota corporation, <br />to operate and maintain a cable communication system <br />in the City, and waive the reading. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Public Works /Community Development Director Thatcher <br />was absent on vacation. <br />It was noted that Attorney Meyers was absent. 11. Report of <br />Attorney <br />Councilmember Hankner reported the Festivities 12. Reports of <br />Commission has been operating with five people, Councilmembers <br />which is a very small group, and due to their <br />size, they are having problems with planning the <br />1985 Festival in the Park. She explained that <br />due to lack of people to help, they were not planning <br />on having the church service this year, and due to <br />problems in not being able to get back information <br />from former commission members on past years <br />activities, they we;:!- r c>t able to organize a <br />parade. She requested that the 4.1L ^tArvcn° and <br />send a letter to the former Festivities Commis6ic <br />members, asking them to return the paperwork and <br />information they have. <br />Motion /Second: Hankner /Quick to have the Clerk/ <br />Administrator send a letter to the former Festivities <br />Commission members, requesting they return the <br />paperwork, information and files they may have still. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Councilmember Quick had <br />Councilmember Blanchard <br />the Planning Commission <br />airport meeting instead <br />no report. <br />reported she had not attended <br />meeting as she had attended an <br />9. 1st Reading of <br />Ordinance No. <br />186 <br />Motion Carried <br />10.
