Mounds View City Council May 28, 1985 <br />Regular Meeting Page Six <br />4irector Thatcher reviewed the three firms that had <br />een interviewed at the last agenda session to review <br />the comprehensive land use plan for theCity. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley stated that Staff would <br />recommend Council authorize Staff to enter into <br />discussions with Robert wuornos to negotiate a <br />contract for the Council's consideration. <br />Motion /Second: Linke /Quick to hire Robert wuornos <br />and Associates with the stipulation that Staft enter <br />into negotiations with them as to the cost and <br />study parameters. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor Linke explained he reasons for choosing this firm <br />is they are more willing to talk to the local residents, <br />and they would be more economical. <br />Director Thatcher reported Vern Conaway, 5101 Brighton <br />Lane,has applied for a fill permit, and he reviewed <br />the request and recommended approval. He explained <br />this would help alleviate the water problem for both <br />Mr. Conaway and other area residents. <br />lotion /Second: Quick /Linke to approve the fill permit <br />"for Mr. Vern Conaway at 5101 Brighton Lane. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Attorney Meyers reviewed the implications of Chapter <br />62 of the 1985 legislative session. <br />Councilmember Blanchard reported the Firemans Relief <br />Association would be meeting at 8 PM on May 29, and <br />she would not be able to attend. She also asked for <br />a clarification of fire inspection activities on the <br />part of the City and whether records are kept, as the <br />fire chief has stated publicly they have not been done <br />in Mounds View, and she would like to be able to <br />refute that statement_. <br />Director Thatcher reported <br />of making fire inspections <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley <br />for the reports. <br />the City is in the process <br />at this time. <br />stated Staff would look <br />r. McCarty stated he was under the impression that <br />!fireman is forced to retire after suffering a heart <br />attack, and questioned why the fire chief had not been <br />forced to resign after his heart attack. <br />16.
