'Mounds View City Council January 27, 1986 Regular Meeting Page Six "vttorney Meyers reported an order had come down rom the Minnesota Supreme Court, denying a discre- tionary review of the Gregory ;Johnson case. He added that it is anticipated that many cities will cite the Mounds View case in the future in their proceedings. Attorney, Meyers reported he would be absent from the next Council meeting, and Mark Karney will be attending in his place. Councilmember Blanchard had no report. Councilmember Quick had no report. Councilmember Haake reported she had attended part of the Festivities Commission meeting earlier in the evening, and they are interested in moving the date of the annual appreciation dinner to the Saturday night of the Festival in the Park, which will be July 19 and 20 this year. Alice Frits stated the Festivities Commission feels it would be a better way to tie the two day festival together. 'c was agreed that the Council would discuss the issue further at the next Council agenda session, and Councilmember Haake would get back to the Festivities Commission after that. Councilmember Hankner had no report. Mayor Linke had no report. Clerk /Administrator Pauley passed out information regarding the Anoka Chamber of Commerce breakfast on January 29, at which Governor Perpich will be the guest speaker. He added he would make reser- vations for those Councilmembers planning on attending. Clerk /Administrator Pauley reviewed an Action Alert he had just received regarding the Governor's proposed budget cuts, and the impact they could have on Mounds View.
