Mounds View City Council <br />Regular Meeting <br />Director Thatcher explained that pursuant to Council's 11. <br />authorization of the project in July 1986, Staff would <br />now like a specific award made at this time, for a <br />specific dollar amount, and he reviewed the two bids <br />that were received. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained this was a formality <br />only, as the work had already been approved by the <br />Council. <br />Motion /Second: Quick /Hankner to authorize award of the <br />project for the bike path to Johnco, in an amount not to <br />exceed $8,949.00, with the money coming from the <br />contingency account. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Councilmember Blanchard stated she still felt the work <br />could have waited, in view of the fact that the <br />contingency fund is going down due to the pipeline <br />situation. <br />Mayor Linke explained the work had already been done, <br />and this is merely a formality in approving the payment. <br />Councilmember Haake stated she agreed with Council <br />member Blanchard's comments, but she realizes the work <br />has been done. <br />Motion /Second: Blanchard /Hankner to approve the <br />payment of $8,949.00 to Johnco, with the funds coming <br />from the contingency account. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Motion /Second: Quick /Haake to approve Resolution <br />No. 2119, approving the appointment of Thomas <br />Kinney as a full -time City employee, and waive the <br />reading. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Police Chief Ramacher updated the Council of activity <br />in the Police Department for the past quarter, and <br />he presented an overhead projection, showing how <br />Moun's View is rated in crime statistics when <br />compared to surrounding communities. He reported the <br />four reservists are attending school now and should <br />be graduating in December.
