Mounds View City Council December 22, 1986 <br />Regular Meeting Page Three <br />Qtion /Second: Hankner /Blanchard to approve the purchase of <br />'o IBM personal computers from Ameridata at a cost no <br />greater than $7,168.00, being charged to the accounts <br />recommended in the staff memo of December 17, 1986. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Director Thatcher reported Ramsey County submitted their 13. <br />final feasibility study on the reconstruction of County <br />Road I last week, and he will be presenting details to <br />the Council at the next agenda session. He stated the <br />total cost of the reconstruction is estimated to be <br />$1,600,000, with the City's share to be $300,000. The <br />City's cost of the signal at County Road I and Quincy <br />would be $16,250. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley stated he had spoken with <br />Burt Nygren, superintendent of the school district, <br />and he asked the City to submit a proposal to them once <br />the bids are received, and he feels the school board <br />will approve paying half of the City's cost of the <br />signal. <br />Councilmember Hankner asked the status of the MSA <br />`unds the City has. <br />irector Thatcher replied there is $100,000 in the <br />fund presently, and the City will be receiving <br />$170,000 in 1987, and additional MSA funds for 1988 <br />could be drawn on. He added he would provide further <br />details at the agenda session. <br />There was discussion among the Council of the needs of <br />the City in the future for road construction and <br />repair. <br />Director Thatcher reported Gunner Isberg has been <br />hired by the City of Rochester and Olmstead County <br />as their planning director, and he would still like <br />to do the study for the City. He added Mr. Isberg <br />is in the process of looking at his schedule to see <br />when he can meet with the Council. <br />Director Thatcher stated he would like to thank the <br />Public Works staff for their dedicated service to the <br />City for the past year, specifically Steve Rose, Brian <br />Hoffman, Barb Collins, Dick Schmidlin, Larry Decheine., <br />Bill Hangee, Bill Hanson, Tim Pittman, Wally Mortenson <br />and Gary Kardell. <br />Motion Carried <br />Report of <br />Public Works/ <br />Community <br />Development <br />Director <br />
