Mounds View City Council January 26, 1987 <br />Regular Meeting Page Five <br />Attorney Meyers reported a new judge will be assigned <br />on the Highway 10 radiator case and it should be in <br />court soon. He recommended no further action be <br />taken regarding this property until the case has been <br />resolved in court, such as any requests for permits <br />or zoning, and he asked that such requests be referred <br />to him. <br />Attorney Meyers asked the Council authorize action to <br />begin the process of applying to MnDOT to allow the <br />City to acquire the property that was formerly known <br />as the George Jackson property. <br />Motion /Second: Hankner /Quick to have Staff proceed <br />with the application to MnDOT for the property known <br />as the George Jackson property. <br />5 ayes <br />Councilmember Hankner reported she is the new liaison 15. Reports of <br />to the Park and Rec Commission, and she had attended Councilmembers: <br />her first Park and Rec Commission meeting last week. Councilmember <br />Hankner <br />Councilmember Hankner reported the Senate Transporta- <br />tion Committee will be meeting at 8 AM on January <br />27, to hold a hearing on legislation introduced by <br />Representative Knuth and Senator Novak. She stated <br />she has spoken with the two of them about making a <br />presentation to the Council regarding their bill, <br />which would also allow the cable viewing audience an <br />opportunity to hear them. It was agreed they should <br />be invited to the February 9 Council meeting. <br />Councilmember Hankner reported there will be a suicide <br />awareness planning committee meeting on February 2, <br />at 6:30 PM at Central High School, and Roger Taylor <br />will be speaking to the parents of gifted students. <br />Councilmember Quick had no report. <br />Councilmember <br />Quick <br />Councilmember Blanchard reported she had represented Councilmember <br />the City last week at the public service appreciation Blanchard <br />dinner at the Kraus Hartig VFW, where they had pre- <br />sented a flag to the City. She added that Policeman <br />Reed Krough had received a plaque naming him officer <br />of the year. <br />Councilmember Wuori reported she had attended her <br />first Planning Commission meeting and found it very <br />interesting. <br />Motion /Second: Linke /Blanchard to reappoint Peg <br />Mountin as Chairman of the Planning Commission for 1987. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />0 nays Motion Carried <br />Councilmember <br />Wuori <br />Mayor Linke <br />Motion Carried <br />
