Mounds View City Council April 27, 1987 <br />Regular Meeting Page Two <br />the $10,000 that was being saved at this <br />Motion /Second: Quick /Blanchard to award <br />of insurance coverages to McGuire Agency <br />to the proposal for coverages submitted, <br />total premium of $123,339. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />time. <br />placement <br />pursuant <br />for a <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reviewed the items on the <br />consent agenda. <br />Motion /Second: Hankner /Wuori to approve the consent <br />agenda, as presented, and waive the reading of the <br />resolutions. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor Linke explained that when the second reading <br />had been held on this ordinance on April 13, there <br />had been only three Councilmembers present, so they <br />were going to confirm the motion at this time, to <br />ensure a 4/5 vote. <br />Councilmember <br />Councilmember <br />Councilmember <br />Councilmember <br />Mayor Linke <br />Wuori aye <br />Hankner aye <br />Quick aye <br />Blanchard aye <br />aye <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley stated Staff would <br />recommend hiring James T. Tobias as building <br />official for the City, and he reviewed his memo <br />of April 23, 1987 to the Council. <br />Councilmember Quick asked just what a building <br />official does. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained that under <br />State statute, he is charged with the enforcement <br />of all building codes, and will make rulings with <br />respect to compliance and will make code interpre- <br />tations. He will be the building inspector, fire <br />inspector, and supervise the housing inspector, <br />and work with Staff on zoning issues. <br />Councilmember Hankner asked if Mr. Tobias had had <br />an opportunity to meet with other staff. <br />Motion Carried <br />6.
