PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA The Mounds View City Council was called to order by 1. Call to Mayor Linke at 7:02 PM on Monday, March 14, 1988. The Pledge of Allegiance was said. MEMBERS PRESENT: Councilmembers Quick, Blanchard, Hankner, Wuori and Mayor Linke. ALSO PRESENT: Attorney Karney, Clerk /Administrator Pauley and City Planner Herman. Motion /Second: Quick /Blanchard to approve the February 22, 1988 minutes as presented. 5 ayes 0 nays Peter Lozowy, 7971 Woodlawn Drive, stated there has been a problem with speeders and reckless drivers along Woodlawn Drive for the past three years since he has lived there, and he is frustrated in trying to get anything done about it, and he feels the fines should be etiffer, and those who abuse it should be treated like adults. Councilmt,mber Hankner stated she had received a letter from Mr. Lozowy on Saturday. She explained this is the street she lives on, and there are a lot of cars coming and going from one particular house. She added the police are patrolling the area as much as possible, and she suggested holding a neighborhood meeting as one way of involving the residents and trying to get a workable solution. Attorney Karney stated that if the police are advised of certain times when it is worst, they can be in the area and cite for speeding or misdemenour careless driving. He added residents could also get the license number of the vehicle and file a complaint with the police, which could then be prosecuted.
