Mounds View City Council August 8, 1988 <br />Regular Meeting Page Seven <br />Motion /Second: Linke /Quick to have Staff study and <br />look into the permitting process for outdoor live <br />entertainment. <br />4 ayes <br />0 nays Motion Carried <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley stated the Police Department <br />was aware of the event, but they have no control over <br />it. He added they did provide off -duty officers, along <br />with the private service the Mermaid hired. <br />Mayor Linke noted his phone number was not listed in <br />the Minneapolis phone book, and was listed as Shoreview <br />in the St. Paul book, and was not listed in the <br />community directory. He asked that Staff make sure his <br />number is listed on the City publications. <br />Alice Frits, Long Lake Road, asked why this event <br />was held outside. Mayor Linke replied outdoor <br />entertainment is popular. <br />Mayor Linke reported the Ramsey County Board met last <br />Tuesday and finally approved the plan allowing the <br />Library trustees to negotiate the purchase of land for <br />the libraries, and to start the process for the sale of <br />bonds, and authorize the plans. <br />Mayor Linke reported he had represented the City last <br />Thursday as an alternate to the cable commission. He <br />gave to Clerk /Administrator Pauley the document dis- <br />cussed at that meeting concerning access and asked that <br />it be copied for the Council. <br />Mayor Linke reported he had attended two performances <br />of "West Side Story" and enjoyed them very much. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported bids had been <br />opened for the traffic light at Wooddale Drive and <br />Highway 10. <br />Motion /Second: Quick /Wuori to award the bid for the <br />Wooddale Drive and Highway 10 traffic control system <br />to the low bidder, Design Electric, Inc., in the amount <br />of $67,847.00, to be charged to the tax increment fund. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported on the amount of <br />time he has spent recently responding to mandates <br />from various levels of government and government <br />agencies. He stated it is very time consuming and <br />there is no reimbursement to the City for the costs <br />involved. <br />17. Report of <br />Clerk/ <br />Administrator <br />Motion Carried <br />
