Mounds View City Council <br />Regular Meeting <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained the proposed <br />ordinance will change the Mayor's salary from <br />$3,000 to $3,600 per _year, and the Councilmembers <br />salary from $2,700 to $3,300 per year. He stated <br />the raises had been budgeted for and will take <br />effect 30 days after publication <br />Motion /Second: Hankner /Wuori to have the second <br />reading and adoption of Ordinance No. 450, amending <br />the Municipal Code of Mounds View by Amending <br />Chapter 2.09 entitled "Compensation of Mayor and <br />Council and waive the reading. <br />Councilmember Blanchard aye <br />Councilmember Hankner aye <br />Councilmember Wuori aye <br />Mayor Linke aye <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained the owners of <br />Silver View Plaza have submitted an ::pt,lication to <br />the Planning Commission to rezone the plaza from <br />B -2 to B -3, and it was suggested at the last agenda <br />session that the public hearing be set, which would <br />expedite the process, but not necessarily the <br />decision. <br />Mayor Linke stated he understands the Planning <br />Commission has suggested an ordinance change to <br />move all retail business, such as clothing, into <br />B -2. <br />Councilmember Wuori explained that <br />the problem of a zoning change and <br />that are more compatible into that <br />would eliminate <br />would put things <br />zoning. <br />Mayor Linke explained he works for Kraus Anderson <br />and is directly involved with the group that is <br />taking over the shopping center, so he would be <br />removing himself from The discussion. <br />Councilmember W.zori reported the Planning Commission's <br />recommendation will be for the ordinance change, and <br />they will make their formal recommendation at their <br />first meeting in January. She explained it was their <br />feeling that a change in zoning could cause <br />problems. <br />Councilmember Hankner stated the Council had said <br />they would be willing to set a public hearing but not <br />necessarily agree to do anything that night. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley pointed out the change <br />would involve amending B -2, B -3 and B-4 of the <br />zoning code. <br />December 27, 1988 <br />Page Three <br />2nd Reading <br />and Adoption <br />of Ordinance <br />No. 450 <br />Motion Carried <br />9.
