Random water meter readings were taken. The 12 commercial meters were running approximately 94$ accurate and 13 residential were running approximately 98~ accurate. 14 15 Councilmember Hankner stated that the Council has begun long 16 range planning instead of doing crisis management and that the 17 water meter system does have to be taken care of. 18 19 Mayor Linke stated that the Council has three options before 20 them. The proposals are: 21 o Change out all meters to phone read: $830,000 Total Cost of Project 25 $500,000 Loan from Special Projects Fund (to be 26 paid back at 7% for 12 years) 27 28 $330,000 WAC Fund Contribution 29 30 Projected increased revenue: $31,500 31 32 o Change out Commercial accounts to phone read; residential 33 to touch read: 34 35 $505,914 Total Cost of Project 36 $305,914 WAC Fund Contribution 37 $200,000 Loan from Special Projects Fund (to be 38 paid back at 7g for 10 years 39 40 Projected increased revenue: $31,500 41 42 o Do nothing to the water meter system. 43 44 Councilmember Trude commented that she thinks a public hearing 45 should be held on this item to get input from the public and 46 that no action be taken at tonight's meeting. She commented 4 that this is the largest expenditure proposed since she was elected and served on the Council.
