Orduno reported that Jerry Skelly, Mounds View <br />Cable Commission, had volunteered to produce a promotional video for <br />the City of Mounds View. Orduno stated that the project, which will <br />take one year to produce, will showcase Mounds View's early beginnings <br />through the present. Orduno stated that the $5.00 will be used for <br />anticipated materials and miscellaneous costs associated with the <br />project. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Blanchard/Quick to Approve the Production of a Mounds <br />View Promotional Video and Authorize and Expenditure of $500 to be Paid <br />Out of Contingency Fund, 100-4500-910 and into City Hall Account No. <br />100-4190-303 (Professional Services) <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried, <br />F. Carla Asleson, Recycling Coordinator/Code Enforcement Officer, reviewed <br />Staff Report No. 93-474C regarding the approval of the Environmental <br />Quality Commission Chair. Ms..Asleson stated that on March 16, 1993, <br />• Richard Oman was appointed to the position of Chair of the <br />Environmental .Quality Commission by the members present at the <br />Environmental Quality Commission meeting. Asleson: stated that per <br />Chapter 33.07 of the Municipal Code, the appointment is subject to <br />approval of the City Council. <br />MOTION1SECOND: Rickaby/Quick to Approve Richard D. Oman as Chair <br />of the Environmental Quality Commission <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays .Motion Carried <br />G. Mary Saarion, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry, reviewed <br />Staff Report No. 93-4750 regarding the approval. of park dedication <br />funds and match to ISTEA Proposal. Saarion reported that she had <br />prepared a grant application for the funding of the bridge at Silver <br />View park. Saarion further reported that this bridge would span over <br />the storm water ditch along the path leading from the sidewalk on <br />Silver Lake Road to the playground/picnic shelter area. <br />Saarion reported that ISTEA is a new funding source for trailways and <br />enhancements and it does allow the funding of pedestrian and bike <br />bridges. This grant asks for a 20~ co~n~munity contribution. Parks <br />money has already been committed for 1993 to projects and the match for <br />the LAWCON grant. The Parks and Recreation Commission, therefore, is <br />asking for a loan from the City for the $12,500 and pay it back next <br />year with the Park Dedication fees in 1994. <br />• <br />
