View City Council <br />Page Five <br />MOTION/SECOND: Wuori/Quick to Approve Change in Snow and Ice Control <br />Policy As Presented <br />VOTE• 5 ayes 0 nays <br />Motion Carried <br />At this time., Bill Frits, 8072 Long Lake Road, asked who had been plowing <br />Long Lake Road and putting snow on private property. Mike Ulrich, Public <br />Works Supervisor, explained that the County had not plowed the street wide <br />enough for mail delivery, so the City widened it which did throw snow on <br />private property. <br />Councilmember Blanchard stated that she had received two calls regarding <br />salt in the snow that was thrown on private property and its effect on the <br />grass. " <br />Mike .Ulrich responded that the salt content is very low in the snow and <br />sand that is thrown on the grass. Ulrich explained that the sand would <br />injure the grass sooner than the salt would. <br />Victoria Bowers commented that two years ago a plow had come by and plowed <br />in her mailbox and her neighbor's mailbox and that she had to dig them <br />out. <br />• Mayor Linke stated that two years ago we had an inordinate amount of <br />C. Consideration of Hiring of Public Works Maintenance Worker <br />Tim Cruikshank, Assistant to the City Administrator, stated that a job <br />placement ad was placed in the paper advertising a Maintenance Worker <br />position to fill a vacancy created by the passing of a City employee. <br />After completion of the interviews, the interview panel recommends the <br />hiring of Cheryl Sutton as Public Works Maintenance Worker in the Streets <br />Division. <br />Cruikshank commented that the City of Mounds View is the first <br />metropolitan city to hire a female public works maintenance worker and <br />that this would help establish a female dominated class of employees in <br />this department. <br />MOTIONLSECOND: Quick/Trude to Adopt Resolution No. 4458 Approving <br />the Hire of Cheryl Sutton, Public Works Maintenance Department, Streets <br />Division <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />snowfall. <br />Mayor Linke extended congratulations to Cheryl from the City Council as <br />the new Maintenance Worker in the Streets Department <br />Consideration of Approval to Paint the Water Pipes and Floor at t_he <br />Booster Station <br />
