The size and shape of my lot is quite diferent frora other properties
in he vicinityo M lot is of an irregular size which does not have the
rquirEd rear property Iine setback. At the time my home was built in 1977,
the zoning codes were di.ffexent than hey; ;a,. -ay. T was al.lowed to build
my home, with a deck, with a shorer rear property I.ine setbacko As he
zoning codes axe written today, I would have practical difficulties wih
construction of anything that 2 would do a- the rear of my property,
inclucling replacing an existing deck.
b. My family and I wouid be deprived of the rights coErQnonly enjoyed by
°' ni9hbars°-the enjoyment of a three-season porch such as many of my
neighbors naw enjoy.
co The Zack of the required rear proPerty line setback does not resuit
from my own actions, bu rather frem the zoning codes -Fhat were in existence
when I purchased t}le 1.0 and built my home and the irregular shape of the
lot. T chose the lot becaus2 T found it a pleasant location and did not
}elieve that the irxegu. shape would at sorne poin become a detriment to
future plans.
° G"antinq this varzance wi1.7. not allow rae any special priviles
as many of my neighbors have ea-season porches and/or large decks.
eo I assure you that shoE.i.Id rhis variance be granted, it would be the
mi-nimum variance allowed to construc-t the three-season porcho No further
encraachment, oher t.han -that requixed, would le requestedo This zs
not a matter of economic hardship, but rather the hardship of not being
able to enjoy a portion of our home and propertyo
