C <br />❑ I'ublic Hearings Report Numbcr:EDA-95-46�_ <br />❑ Consent Abenda Repor[ Date: 11-9-95 <br />[� EDA Business <br />item Description: <br />Welcome to Mounds View Banners <br />Executive Director's Review/Recommendation: <br />- No comments to supplement this report <br />- Comiuci�ts attac(iccl <br />Explanatiou/Summary �auach suppicment sheets as necessary) <br />S UN[NIARY: <br />Per the discussions at several Council\EDA work sessions with regards to Welcome Banners <br />in Mounds View, attached is a resolution approving the purchase of 20 banners to be <br />placed in various locations around the City of Mounds View. The proposed locations <br />include County Road 1, Edgewood, City Hall, The Bridges and possibly Long Lake Road <br />and Silver Lake Road. <br />Per the 1995\96 Mounds View Mar�Ceting Plan, which was approved by the EDA in April, <br />the banners will be one of the first attempts ta help inform travelers that they are in the <br />main area of the City of Mounds View. The banners will create visua( excitement with a <br />contemporary, vibrant (ook. The banners will incorporate the pride, progress and <br />partnership image statement and would be royal blue with a green tree design and white <br />lettering, It is proposed to have the fire department and pubfic worlcs department jointly <br />install the banners. <br />The total cost is $2,860 and includes two color 30" x 80" standard banners with logo <br />imprint and banner bracket sets, The funds will come out of account no. 100-4550-342 <br />Marketing, Advertisements. Partial funding comes from a grant that was awarded to the <br />City of Mounds View from Northern States Power. <br />Cathy Bennett, Economic Development Coordinator <br />REGONIMENDATION: <br />Waive the reading of Resolution No. 95-EDA-37 and approve/disapprove the purchase of <br />Mounds View Banners per the 1995/96 Marlceting Program <br />
