Consideration of Resolution No. 95-EDA23 Supporting the <br />Pursuit of a Small Business Loan Proqram for Mounds View <br />Businesses as Recommended bv the Economic Development <br />Commission <br />Cathy Bennett related that Mark Malone, a member of the <br />Economic Development Commission, gave an overview of the Small <br />Business Loan Program for Mounds View businesses at the Work <br />Session on February 6. This recommendation was made as the <br />result of reviewing current incentive programs available ta <br />local businesses and evaluating loan programs implemented in <br />other metro cities. <br />This program fulfills one of the action steps of the Focus <br />2000 Implementation Plan for economic development. The basic <br />parameters of the proposed program include the goals, <br />eligibility requirements, qualifying improvements, and the <br />terms of the loan. This would be a matching loan that the <br />City would provide with a participating bank. <br />This Resolution would allow the Economic Development <br />Commission to pursue �he legal and financial structuring of <br />the program. Once �hose documents have been prepared, the <br />program will be brought back to the EDA for final approval. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Blanchard/Hankner to Adopt Resolution No. 95- <br />EDA23 Suppor�ing the Pursuit of a Small Business Loan Program <br />for Mounds View Businesses as Recommended by the Economic <br />Development Commission <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays <br />REPORTS <br />Motion Carried <br />1.
