EDA <br />Meeting No. 12 <br />� ��� � ���� � �� <br />., ,, , � ;j� 'f-��i 'I '' � % �f�' j�" <br />i i� � <br />� - � � . _ �� il � ; .� � i tl _ 1 <br />__ Ci v_.._ i.. <br />Page 3 <br />February 13, 1995 <br />1 Commission on January 26, 1995, the members unanimously <br />2 approved the 1995 Calendar of Regular Meetings, Work Plan and <br />3 Bylaws for the governance and direction of the Commission. <br />4 Regular EDC meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of every <br />5 month wi�h the exception of November and December which are <br />6 scheduled for the third Thursdays due to holiday conflicts. <br />7 The Bylaws include minor revisions. <br />8 <br />9 Since the EDC only had faur meetings in 1994, several of the <br />0 work plan items have r�een carried over for 1995. <br />C. <br />I� <br />Secretary Trude requested clarification on certain items of <br />the Bylaws. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hankner/Blanchard to Approve Economic <br />Development Commission 1995 Calendar, Bylaws, and Work Plan <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 95-EDA20 Approving the <br />Appointment of Phil Seipp as Economic Development Commission <br />Chairperson <br />Cathy Bennett, Economic Development Coordinator, reported that <br />the Economic Development Commission is required to appoint a <br />chairperson at the firs�c regular meeting of the year. At the <br />.7anuary 26, 1995 meeting, the members unanimously elected Phil <br />Seipp, President and CEO of SYSCO Minnesota, as Chairperson of <br />the Commission. It is no�ed that Dan Nelson, a resident of <br />Mounds View, was elected as the Vice-Chair for 1995. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hankner/Trude�to Adopt Resolution No. 95-EDA20 <br />Approving Appointment of Phil Seipp Economic Development <br />Commission Chairperson <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 95-EDA22 Approving the Vision <br />Statement for Hiqhway 10 Corridor in Mounds View <br />Cathy Bennett explained that Ron Schmidt, a member of the EDC <br />and Highway 10 Subcommittee, presented a draft Vision <br />Statement for Mounds View's Highway 10 Corridor at the Work <br />Session on February 6. The Vision Statement is the first step <br />in the long term planning for the redevelopment of Highway 10. <br />Developing a plan is in response to the Focus 2000 <br />recommendation to improve the aesthetics and accessibility of <br />Highway 10. As a result, the EDC established a subcommittee <br />to research and evaluate oppor�tunities along Highw�y 10. The <br />subcommittee currently consists of three members o£ the EDC, <br />a member of the Planning Commission and a member of the Parks <br />and Recreation Commission. This will provide a framework for <br />
