-z- <br />Silver View The Director again introduced John Turrittin who <br />Community Yark has been working as the Landscape Architect for the <br />Parks and Recreation Commission. Bryant pointed <br />out that it was time to'begin planning Silver View <br />Community Park. commissioners were asked for their <br />input regarding this park and desired facilities. <br />After this input the L.A. would then begin formu- <br />lating the first rough draft which would be preaented <br />at the next meeting. <br />Commissioner Haake recoimnended the following facilitfes: <br />archery, horseshoes, ballfields, sliding hill, tennis <br />courts, hockey rinks, pleasure rink, picnic areas, <br />and trails. A discussion ensued with Cormnissioncrs <br />adding a permanent shelter building, parking lot anc? <br />landscaping. <br />If at all possible Commissioners in general felt that <br />space should be set aside for a possible future maj�r <br />facility at Silver View Community Park. <br />S^_orage For tl�e next item on the agenda the Director informed <br />commissioners of the storage problem for park as well <br />as recreational equigment. Presently it is being <br />stored in vulnerable or scattered storage areas. A <br />discussion followed. <br />Chairman Peterson presented a mation recommending to <br />the City Council that storage be added at the city <br />garage in the form of a second floor. Commissioner <br />Coplin seconded and the motion passed unanimously. <br />Subdivisions Motion by Commissioner Haake and seconded by Comnissioner <br />Coplin to a�cept cash dedications to the Park Fund in <br />accordance with Ordinance #42.07 for the following <br />subdivisions: H. Melby Sr., Selmer Sakariason, Arthur <br />Moschkau. <br />The motion passed unanimously. <br />Gzeenfield The Director repox-ced chac some eyuiy�ent wae a;;ai2ab.e <br />7bt Lot for the Green:ieid tot lot. He added that a focal <br />point was needed. <br />Commissioner Haake and Peterson recommended a tornado <br />�lide, preferably metal. Bryant reported that the <br />fiberglass slide has a hi:;�'ser platform. However both <br />would be put out on bid. <br />Commissioners Commissioner Coplin recommended at least one evening <br />Report for T-Ball and girls softball games so that parents <br />could attend. The park and recreation staff concurred. <br />Adjournment Motion by Commiesioner Lundquist and seconded by Commiaeionex <br />Coplin to adjouz�- the meeting. The motion paesed unanimouely, <br />The Parks and RecreaYion Commiasion adjourned at 9:30 p.m. <br />
