+'INUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />C011NTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Regular Session <br />July 22, 1976 <br />City Hall <br />Call To Order The Mounds View Park F, Recreation Commission <br />met in special session and was called to order <br />by Vice-Chairman Burmeister at 6:35 p.m. <br />Roll Call Vice-Chairman Wayne Burmeister, Commissioners <br />Wayne Weflen, Jacque Coplin, and Gordoa Fedor. <br />Also present were Roger Baumgartner, Councilman; <br />Doug Bryant, Director; Marcia deLaBruere, Program <br />Supervisor; and Mary Kvalheim, Intern. <br />Conceptual Plan/ The first item on the agenda was a presentation <br />Silver View by staff of the final conceptual plan for Silver <br />View Community Park. Also presented was the slope, <br />topography, and vegetation plans. Major active <br />and passive play areas were discussed along with <br />the parking,roadway, pedestrian/user movement, and <br />stop light at Co Rd H-2 and Silver Lake Road. <br />Pre-Application/ Next, the Director was called on to analyze the <br />LAWCON-LCMR grant application submitted by the Commission and <br />the Park and Recreation Department for Federal and <br />State funds to acquire 19 acres of land for Silver <br />View Community Park. A discussion ensued. <br />The Director pointed out that a public hearing <br />would be held on September 13, 197b, to review <br />comments by the applicants regarding the rankin�s. <br />He also pointed out that the Metropolitan Council <br />would make its recommendations to the State of <br />Minnesota on October 14, 1976. <br />It was agreed that Commissioners should be updated <br />in September as to the status of this project. <br />Baseball Associa- The Park and Recreation Department staff brought <br />tion/Field up a recent complaint it had received from the <br />Scheduling baseball association regarding field use. <br />The Director pointed that there had been a conflict <br />on one particular date - double scheduling, and <br />suggestions of others. However he felt that it <br />was not entirely the departments error. He <br />pointed out that the association's schedule was <br />difficult to read, that there had been no communi- <br />cations or conversations with the baseball associa- <br />tion, and that the requested schedule was not <br />received unt:I two weeks after the program started. <br />
