Call To Order MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSTON CITY OF MO[JNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA Regular Session September 23, 1976 City Hall The piounds View Park & Recreation Commission met in regular session and was called to order by acting Chairperson Sarb Haake at 6:43 p.m. Roll Call Acting Chairperson Barb Haake, Commissioners Jacque Coplin, Gordon Fedor• Kip ;,undquist and Wayne Weflen. Also present were Doug Bryant, Directer; and Mary Kvalheim, Program Supervisor. Approval of Motion by Commissioner Fedor and seconded by Minutes Commissioner Lundquist to approve the minutes of May 27, July 8, and July 22, 1976, as read. The motion passed unanimously. Silver View The first item of business was a report by the Community Park Director of Parks & Recreation regarding the LAWCON/LCMR Grant application. He reported that the Mounds View grant had received an overall ranking by the I�tropolitan Council of #12 out of #34 applicants. He added that he made a presentation on September 13, 1976, to the I�tropolitan Parks & Open Space Commission avestioning why their project was ranked as high as N4 by the State Planninq ng�ncY ar.$ �s lox+ aa N17 and �21 by Metropolitan Council staff. After receiving no positive response a meeting was held with the staff at Metro Square, Jerry Bell and Phyllis Hanson. At this point the Director was informed that an error had been made on the evaluation of grant criteria lL E.1 & 2 by the Parks and Open Space staff and that a re-ranking of our project was not feasible. Therefore, Bryant requested authorization by the Commission to write letters io John Boland - Chairman, Metropolitan Council, and to Elliott Perovich - Chairman, Metropolitan Parks and Open Space Commission, requer�ting a re-ranking of the Mounds View project. lYbtion by Commissioner Haake authorizing the Park & Recreation Director to request a reevalu- ation of the Mounds View Grant Application for LAWCON/LCMR funding. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Lundquist and passed unanimously.
