Minutes -2- December 15, 1977 <br />Winter Skating <br />Program <br />Staff report was reviewed by Direc[or Andereon concerning <br />the 1977-78 Win[er Ska[ing pcogram. The report ou[lined <br />�i:_ fpilnWingt <br />1. Rinks were all graded and bermed in 1977. <br />2. Lighting systems have been repaired and brought <br />up to date. <br />3. A comparison between metal halide and quartz <br />fixtures was presented. <br />4. The ex2sting park maintenance seructure was outlined. <br />5. Parkiag problems at Nillview and Lambert rinks. <br />6. Ardan Park pleasure eka[ing rink. <br />7. Staffs objective �was to mexiaize the uae of rink <br />iacilitiea thruugh a variety of skating activities. <br />Following the report; a motion was made by Co�issioner Haake <br />and seconded by Commissioner Weflen that staff plow temporary <br />lots at I.ambert and Hillview Parks. 5 ayes <br />0 nayes <br />1978 Budget The 1978 Budget was ptesented to the Comniseion by Director <br />Review Anderson and City Administrator Achen. City Administrator <br />Achen atated that he hoped in the future each Covmieaioner <br />would receive a complete copy of the City budget. <br />Mn/DOT Staff briefly ou[lined the preliminary 6ikeway gran[ application <br />Sikeway Grant that was submitted Co Mn/DOT on November 16, 1977. The grant <br />Review proposal was for a 2 mile bikeway [xail along tne northern <br />shoulder of County Road i from 35W [o Silver Lake Road. The <br />total budgeted cost is $31,680.00 of which $7,920.00 vould be <br />paid by the city through cash and 1:.-kind services. <br />Motion by Co�nissioner Burmeister to approve rhe prel3minaxy <br />bikeway grant and seconded by Commissioner Haake. <br />5 ayea <br />0 nayes <br />PaIl Program Siaff report was presented by Program Supervieor Kvalheim <br />Attendance 6 outlining the Fall program totale and new Winter programa. <br />Winter Brochure The following itema highlighted the S[aff report: <br />Fall program attendance was over 1,800 residents. <br />The Noliday Bazaar and Saturday movtes accounted for <br />over 1,200 of the program participanta. <br />New Winter prsgram offeringa are: <br />a.
