GA7EWnY <br />DEVAFTMENT OF VARKS. <br />RECREATION ANDFORESTRY <br />Cif of �ou�dS Ve� <br />� PNMSEVCOUNTY.M�NNESOTl1 <br />�401 MIGMWA�' 10 <br />MO- "�DS JIEW, MINN.65113 <br />MBt�7D T0= Parke a¢d Recrearion Commi.saion <br />FROM: Yarks, Recreation 6 Forestry Director <br />DATE: May 10, 1978 <br />gy+: Water problem in existing park property <br />As per your request concerning the existing watez problems in the ciCy <br />park sites, I would like to submi[ the following for the storm water <br />committee's review: <br />Ardan Park - 8.8 acres - undeveloped <br />Ardan Park is located at Ardan Avenue and Long Lake Road and it <br />presently has no water problem as there are two holding ponds <br />located on the park site. <br />Hdgevood Patk School - 19.8 acres - developed <br />Ed�ewood Park School is located at Edgewood Drive and County Road N. <br />This site conaiets of one school complex, 3 ball fields, a football <br />field and 4 tennis courts. <br />There are no major drainage problev�s at this time with Edgewood, but !t <br />should be noted that we will be developing the Edgewood complex during <br />the next four years with a major addi[ion of four new tennis coutts <br />a'ated for 1979. � <br />Greenfield Park - 35.5 acres - 10 acres developed, 25.5 acrea undeveloped <br />Greenfield Pazk is located at Greenfield Avenue and Hillview Road. <br />Gieenfield Park presently consits of one baseball field, a to[ lot and <br />park shelter building. The major drainage problem with Creenfield is <br />with the open ditch running through the center of the patk. The ditch <br />at present 1s: <br />1. M eyesore. <br />2. The banks are slowly eroding eway. <br />3. A wntinual maintenance problem. <br />4. A possible safety problem ducing peak ralnfnlls wl�en Che <br />running vacer ie high. <br />� <br />
