Her vords
were mos[ encouraging as she relayed ffie frustration of trying to plan,
project and mold the direc[ion of fu[ure generations. Her main thought was
that no one individual or profession is bes[ suited to foresee the future
but rather that we must all do our share in looking ahead and learning from
past historical events.
The afternoon sessions were spen[ in skill development sessions. I attended
two sessions the firs[ being "Avoiding Professional Bur..uut" which was
coordinated by Bill Cox, Co-Director of ?(ul[isource. The session proved [o be
fruitlesa as the problems s[eming from "Professional Burnout" were diacussed
at length with no solu[ions or preventative asures.
Following a short break the second 1' hour seasion began entitled "How To's
of Citizen Participation". The main speaker was Don Brauer, President oF
Brauer and Associates.
