-2- 5. Summsr Hrochure - The swmner brochure was delivered door to doox during the week of May 15 with registration being conducted on �•� Saturday, May 20. The summer program�registration has been very � good up to this point. A complete summer program analysis will be prepared for the June 29 meeting for the Co�.isaion's review. 6. Picnic Kita - Staff has purchased two picnic kits as per the direction of the City Council with the donation from the Mounds View Snuwmobile Club. ?i.a gir.nic kits include: a. Frisbeea b. Volleyball net and ball c. Bats, balls and bases d. Toss-em games e. Footballs f. Scoop gamea g. Playgroimd Kick Ball We have already received reservations for 5 kits. 7. 4bunds View Community Choral Group - Largely due to Program Coordinator Kvalheim's.hard work and excellent promo[ion it appears that we will be having a co�unity choral group during the summer of 1978. We have secured [he services of Mr. Roy Roliins a Music Major from the U of M to direct the choir during the sumc�er �nths. � There are presently 25 singers who have signed up to sing in the summer choir and our future plana include expanding [he program into a year round program. 8. Northtown Promotion - A parks and tecreation day was eponsored at the Northtown Shopping Center on Sunday, May 21 to promote our upcoming su�er programa. In addition to Mounds View's booth, there were 4 other municipalities and 9 other agencies in attendance. Each agency had their ow individual booth and we all collaborated on the folloving: . a. Stage demonstrations. b. Arts and Crafts booth. c. Sport Consultation boo[h that was manned by our summer tennis and golf instrcctors. The afternoon proved to be very succeasful and staff enviaions expanding [he event to four times a year during the coming year. 9. 1977 Capital Improvement - I have included a staff inemo to the City Administrator outlining the final expenditures for the budgeted capital improvements.
