The exis[ing <br />facilities a[�Red Oak include a major school complex, 2 ball fields, some <br />old playground equipmen[ and one hard cour[ surface. There are no major <br />wa[er runoff problems at Red Oak at [his [ime. <br />Silvez Viev Park - 16.6 acres - undeveloped ({Je are in the process of <br />acquiring an addi[ional 19 acres) <br />Silver Viev Park is locaied a[ the corner oi Counry Road H-2 and Silver <br />Lake Road. There presently is no developmen[ a[ Silver View except foz <br />the 100 community gazden lots [ha[ have been plowed, <br />It should be no[ed [ha[ staff envisions Silver View [o be a major community <br />park wiffi ex[ensive developmenc in [he nex[ five years. <br />Included in the ini[ial development plan are 4 ball fields, 2 hockey rinks, <br />4 termis coures, majox parking lot, trailway system and a lazge multi- <br />purpose hard court surface area. <br />Woodcres[ Park - 2 0 acres - developed <br />Woodcres[ Park is loca[ed at the corner of Woodcres[ Drive and Silvec <br />Lake Road. The existing development includes a lighted hockey rink, <br />tot lot and park shelter building. <br />There are No existing wa[er problems a[ Woodcres[ Park: <br />1. There is s[anding waier alr�os[ year round in the open ditch <br />xuaning along Silver Lake Road from which staff has received <br />a.nur�ber of complain[s in [he past from a safety s[andpoin[. _. <br />In addition m the poten[ial safety problem, the site is a <br />breeding area for mosqui[ozs and is eesthe[ically not pleasi.ng. <br />2. The entire nor[hwest end of the park is lowland and standing <br />vater is a continual problem. <br />Civic Cen[ec Park - 12.9 acres - developed <br />Civic Cenrer Park is loca[ed a[ the wrner of Highway 10 and Edgewood Drive. <br />The erzis[ing development consis[s of 2 ball Helds, 2 picnic shelter <br />buildings� a barbecue area and to[ lo[. <br />There is only one va[er ptoblem ai Civic Cencer Park which is loca[ed <br />jus[ nor[h of [he wes[ ball field. Again [his s[anding water has 6e.en <br />created because of a low acea and could 6e corrected throu�h grading and <br />fill. <br />
