Director Anderson <br />Report announced the City Council's request for a bicycle <br />safety program within the city. The Parks, Recreation <br />and Forestry Department will now be responsible for <br />such a program. Program Supervisor relayed possible <br />program projections for the future, especially <br />connected with the University Extension Program for <br />bicycle safety. <br />Student Intern Director Anderson introduced Frank Kampel, Park <br />Report Landscape Architect. Frank reviewed the maey�maps, <br />site plans and layouts of Mounds View parks. The <br />greatest amount of study was directed to Silvex View <br />Park. Following explanation, the Silver View Park <br />plan was discussed. Commissioner Naake made the <br />comment that the tot lot is located too close to <br />the parking lot and is not adjacent to the ball <br />'fields. It was resolved that a second tot lot <br />would be a good addition. The parking lot placem� ` <br />is the deciding issue of the park's layout. , � <br />Commissior.er Haake expressed her preference of <br />parkiug ioe uxiiic on Siiver iake Road racnea tnan <br />County Road H-2. Commissioner Haake requested a <br />traffic study of Silver Lake Road in relation to <br />the Silver View proposed access. Another comment <br />by Commissioner Haake was the possible placement of <br />a pool. Frank Kampel will return to a futvre meeting <br />with a plan including the addition of a second tot <br />lot and proposed swimming pool. <br />Tot Lots Director Mderson reviewed the proposal of the <br />purchase of tot lot equipment for Oakwood and <br />Lambert Psrks. Commissioner Haake made a motion <br />to purchase the equipment as proposed for the <br />Lambert and Oakwood tot lots. Commissioner Linke <br />seconded the motion, and added a.nendment incliiding <br />the proposed placement of equipment and the movement <br />of the Lambert shelter as proposed.
