GATEWAY
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS,
RECREATION AND FORESTRV
C►f of foudSVe
5 RAMSEV COUNTY,MINNESOTA
P401 HIGHWAV l0
MOUNOS VIEW,MINN.55111
MEMO T0: Mounds View Parks $ Recreation Commissioners
FROM: Staff
DATE: October 31, 1978
RE: Silver View Park Acquisition
As staff reported last month the Silver View Acquisition grant
has finally become reality and we are in the process of negotia-
ting witn Kraus-Anderson for the purchase of the 19 acres.
Attached is a copy of the correspondence from Attorney Meyers
updating staff as to the status of the acquisition process.
In addition we have included a copy of a preliminary plat that
has been submitted by Kraus-Anderson. It is staff's contention
that they are presently using this type of an approach to
increase the land value.
If we are unable to acquire the entire 19 acres ivith our existing
funds, we will still have two alternatives:
1. Condemtation
2. Acquisition through the Park Dedication fund.
As can be noted in Attorney Dleyers letter we have begun to stress
the urgency of this project as we will be unable to develop the
Silver View site as projected without the acquisition.
