- 3- <br />Commissioner Haake expressed great need and usefulness <br />for such a comprehensive park and open space plan but <br />also described the vast amount of work and community <br />feedback required for such a p7an. <br />Comnissioner Linke expressed the need far continuity of <br />such an active and ongoing city-wide park and open space <br />plan. <br />7he general concensus was that the Comnission agreed that <br />such a park and open space plan is favorable. <br />Director Anderson will provide a timeline and general <br />direction for such a project and will be distributed to <br />Cortmissioners try the next Commission meeting. <br />New Business Director Anderson distributed several issues of 6ame Time <br />Inc. advertising equipment and shelters. Special interest <br />was directed to the shelters which were equipped with <br />re�vable panels which enable shelters to be versatile <br />for picnic or rink or meating facilities. Questians to be <br />pursued are: storage n_eils, insu7ation and heating. <br />Old Business Comnissioner Linke inquired about Greenfield Skating RSnk <br />lighting and hockey boards. Director Anderson assured the <br />Loim�issioners that the fixtures and boards are ordered and <br />presently being awaited upon. Commissioner Linke also <br />inquired about the White Oak Homeowner"s Associatton project. <br />Director Anderson reported that the City CouncTl approved <br />the proposal for pond silt vacuuming and silt dumptng on <br />Silver View Park land. Haxever, cSty staff w117 administer <br />the project which will occur in the spring, 1979. <br />Commissioner Fedor was interested in the effect of the <br />Hillview Park street sweepings on the rink flooding process. <br />Director Anderson replied that the mixture of Plnewood <br />School's ballfield excess dirt (from leveling) with tMe <br />street sweepings apparently provSded a favorable flooding <br />base as the rink ice development is good. <br />Coimnissioner Kuluvar asked if any word has been henrd from <br />Mr. Lamppa in relation to his problem with stray pucks from <br />Woodcrest Park hockey rink. Director Ander•son raported thet <br />the puck protection screen has been placed on the boards <br />and Mr. Lamppa has not replied. <br />Staff Report Director Anderson suggested that the DecemDer Perk end <br />Recreation Commission meeting be postponed because o1 the <br />holiday season. Commissioners agreed. <br />Adjournment Commissioner Fedor made a matton to edjourn the meetinp, end <br />was seconded by Commissioner Linke. Motlon cerrlad <br />unanimously.
