MEMO T0: Mounda V1ew Parks end Recreation Commissioners FROM: Steff DATE: January 22, 19)9 RE: Park Sbetter Task Force At the Mqy Park Commission meeting it was determined that a Park Shelter Task Force should ba estabislhed Lo review and anatyze the existing status of the Park Shelter Bulldings. Each Commisstoner was to assign a liaison for their respective Dark to meet on a monthly basis. The esslgmnnts were as follows: Lambar! - Commisstoner Weflen Oekwood - Commlssioner Fedor Grovaland - Commtssioner Kuluvar Graenfleid - Commlssioner Linke N111vtew - Chatrperson Burmeister Woodcrest - Lommissioner Coplin In addltlon tbe following appointments were made, Director Anderson as Coordinator, Commissloner L1nke as Coimnission Liaison and Frank Kampel as Design Coordinator. Staff hes scheduled four meetings since that date, each of which has been poorty ettended. As many of our decisions are based on the input from each of the park tltes it is imperative that each park site be represented. AS stafP feels that the P.S.T.F, report should become an integral part of the over ell comprehensive park master plan we feel that we >hould re-organize the task force. It appears to be difficult to retain a representative from each park site, so staff retommends that neighborhood meetings shoutd be held to receive input from alt residents Sn the respective park areas. This information could then be reviewed and analyzed by a sub-committee of the Park Commission who would finalize the report for the Council's review. We could coordinate these meetings in conjunction with our camprehensive Park and Open Space StuQy. If the Lomnission feels that this would be a better approach, staff recommends that a sub-comnittee be formed from the Cortmission to work with staff in developing a time line, questionna?rn and overall strategy.
