w�� v� 19vu11W racn <br />DEPARTMENT OF PARKS, RfCREATION AND FORESTRY <br />2401 Highway 10 <br />Mounds View, MN 55712 <br />784-3055 <br />GARDEN-A-LOT GUIDELINES - 1979 <br />1- The City will make arrangements for the initial preparation of the ground <br />for planting. <br />2- Soit sample resutts will be'posted on the bulletin board. <br />3- The plot size ++ill be 75 feet x 20 feet. The CSty will stake out and <br />i�ntify each plot by a code on the front, right-hand stake. <br />4- Yegetable gardening inforniation will be provided by tne City to partici- <br />pants through publications, �etings, bulletin boards> etc. These will be <br />provided free or at a nominal charge. <br />5^ The lease fee will be $5.00 per plot. No refunds will be made without <br />a written request. No refund will be made after June 1, 1975. No lease <br />may be transferred without the written permission of the �ep�rt�nt of <br />Qarks, Recreation and Forestry. The fees and plot(s) may be forfeited <br />if the rules and regutations are violated. <br />6- Assignment of plots in 7979 will be on a first come-first serve basis. <br />Leasees requesting a second plot should make such requests at the time of <br />registration. Assignment of a second plot will be made on a first come- <br />first serve basis (based on the initial registration) only if all single <br />plots have not been leased by the close of the working day cn March 30, <br />7979. Ar�y leasing of 2 plots will be located side-by-side, .f possible. <br />It is hoped that leasees ,vill have the opportunity to .use tAe same <br />plot(s) in subsequent years. <br />7- The garden plots will be open from sunrise to sunset. <br />8- The leasee will park his vehicle in the parking area provided. <br />9-'fhe leasee will limit the activities of himself, his family and guests <br />to his personal plot(s) and adjacent walkways. No domestic animals are <br />allowed toose or on a leash in the vicinity of the gardens. <br />10 - No structures will be allowed on the plots or on the adjacent area. <br />71 - The leasees wili mark the front right-hand stake of their plot(s) with <br />their name in a permanent manner. <br />12 - The leasee will provide all his/her own seeds, bedding ptants, tools. <br />etc. lt is suggested that no bienniats or perrenials be planted because <br />they will be turned under the following year. <br />13 - No dra9 producing plants may be grown. <br />14 - Corn or sunflowers may be planted only in the middle of a plot and not <br />withTn 4 feet of the border on any s1de. (YOU are urged not to Dl�an.t <br />sunflowers or corn because it will shade other vegetables res-uTtiog fn a <br />reduced yicld.) <br />
