Call to Order <br />Roll Call <br />MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Regular Session <br />April 26, 1979 <br />hbunds View City Hall <br />Counci7 Chambers, 6:30 p.m. <br />The hbunds View Parks and Recreation Comnission was cailed <br />to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Wayne Burmeister. <br />Commissioners present - Chairman Burmeister, Commissioners <br />Scott, Silvis, Kuluvar, Weflen, Linke and Fedor. <br />Comnissioners ahsent - Coplin, Haake. <br />Councilmember present - Councilmember Ziebarth. <br />Staff present - Director Anderson and Program Supervisor <br />Kvalheim. <br />Approval of Coimnissioner Linke made a motion to accept the minutes as <br />Minutes read. CcRUnissioner Weflen seconded the motion. 7he motion <br />passed. 0 Nays <br />7 Ayes <br />Chairman's Chairman Burmeister welcomed newly appointed Commissioner <br />Report Scott. Chairman Burmeister read a ietter of appreciation <br />written by Edna Young, president of the Mounds View Sunrise <br />Seniors Club. Edna Young expressed gratitude and appreciation <br />for the support which has bzen given to the Sunrise Seniors <br />Club by the City Council. <br />Councilmember's <br />Report <br />Film Review <br />Councilmember 2iebarth also welcomed newly appointed <br />Comnissioner Lloyd Scott. <br />Councilmember Ziebarth announced that the city administrator's <br />position fias been offered and accepted by Mr. Jeffrey Nelson. <br />Councilmember Ziebarth reported that the Festivities Commission <br />is in full force with the coopeartion of new and old me�ers <br />participating in the planning of the 5th Annual "Festival in <br />the Park". The Festivities Commission has the benefit of <br />energetic and involved volunteers. Fireworks have been <br />ordered. The Su�mner brochure has provided a page detailing <br />the schedule of activitfes for the day, Sunday, July 15. <br />"In Search of Balance", a film sponsored by the National <br />Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) was shown. The film <br />explains the needs for leisure recreation in the attivities of <br />people in order to provide a balanced life. <br />Siiver Vtew Director Mderson reported that the 8136,800.00 LAWCON Grant � <br />Park Status monies have been received. The City Council has approved the � <br />acquisition of Silver View Dark land. Presently, the City � <br />Louncil, Parks and Recreation Commission and staff are awaiting �� <br />the return of Dale Engelsma for a joint negotiation meeting. '� <br />
