MINUTES OF THE PROCEE6?YGS OF THE <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF MDUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Regular Session <br />January 25, 1979 <br />hbunds View City Hall <br />Council Chambers-6:30 p.m. <br />Call to Order The Mour�ds View Parks and Recreation Comnission was called <br />to order at 6:40 p.m. by Chairman Wayne Burmeister. <br />Roll Call Commissioners present - Chairman Burmeister, Commissioners <br />Fedor, Linke and Weflen. <br />Commissioners absent - Commissioners Coplin, Haake and <br />Kuluvar. <br />Councilmember present - Councilmember Ziebarth. <br />Staff present - Director Anderson and Program Supervisor <br />Kvalheim. <br />Visitors present - Mr. Lloyd Scott, 5100 Red Oak Drive. <br />Mr. Scott is an applicant for the Parks and Recreation <br />Comnission. <br />Approval of Cortsnissioner Linke made a motion to accept the minutes as <br />Minutes read. Commissioner Weflen seconded the motion. The motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Councilmember's Couacitmember Ziebarth informed the Comnissioners that St. <br />Report Anthony has recently built a park shelter which is becoming <br />a problem facility. It was suggested that the Cammissioners <br />determine the needs and interests of the community as well <br />as the location, utilization and other shelter facility <br />information before action is taken. <br />Also, Councilmember Ziebarth informed the Commissian about <br />the possibility of extending the number of Commissioners <br />from 7 to 9 members. The City Councilmembers are discussing <br />the issue. No appointments have been made to this date. <br />Park Shelter Director Anderson expressed the proble� of very low <br />Building Task attendance at the past Park Shelter Building Task Foree <br />Force meetings. Director Anderson's suggestion was to disband <br />the Park Shelter Task Force and form a sub-committee from <br />within the Park and Recreation CommSSSion and staff. This <br />sub-committee would aiso be inciuded in the Park and Open <br />Space planning committee. <br />Questions asked by the Commissioners included: <br />1. Would the Park Shetter Bullding 7ask Force members play <br />a part in the sub-commlttee4 <br />2. Wouid the possib111ty of a larger number of commisstoners <br />be Tn expectation of the sub-committee? <br />
