Would the Park and Open Space plan and the Park Shelter
issue be incorporated or be dealt as special entities7
In answer to these questions, Director Anderson suggested that:
t. The sub-comnittee would only be comprised af Parks and
Recreation Commission members and staff. The former
Park Shelter Building Task Force would not be included.
2. The number of Commissioners will have no bearing on the
sub-committee make up.
3. The interest of the former Park Shelter Building Task
Force has been great by the few persons who attend the
meetings.
4. The sub-comnittee wauld be responsible for the development
of a community survey and implementation of 2 neighborhood
park meetings. In this way it is hoped that the Commission
will receive the necessary feedback to determine the needs,
wants and interests of the community.
5. The fark and Open Space plan and the Park Shelter issue
would definitely be dealt with as cooperating issues.
Councilmember Ziebarth suggested that the cortmunity feedback
would be very desirabte and would hopefully enhance comnunity
park and open space development by provision of residents'
suggestions and criticisms.
Commissioner Linke expressed his belief that the Park and
Open Space plan and Park Shelter certainly are cooperative
projects.
Chairman Burneister made the suggestion that the Park Shelter
Task Force be disbanded and the formation af a Park and
Open Space sub-committee be implemented during the February
Park and Recreation Commission meeting. The delaty was
su9gested to await the City Council's decision on appoint-
ment of additional commissioners and in anticipation of
full attendance.
Silver View Park Director Anderson reviewed the new plans as drafted by Kraus/
Status Anderson in reference to the Si7ver View project. Director
Anderson has met with the state planntng agency and the finat
stamp of approval for funding wi11 be given February 1.
