N — - <br />CITY AND NEIGHBORHOOD DESGRIPTION <br />The subject property lies at the northeast corner of the intersection <br />oE Silver �Lake Road end County Itoad H2 in the southwest central <br />portion of the City of Moundsview, Minnesota. Moundsview is a <br />third tier northern suburb of Minneapolis and St. Paul with a <br />current 1979 population estimated at 13, 340. This most racent <br />populaticn estimate is down slightly some from last year and <br />indicates an overall increase in population from the 1970 census <br />of. about 2, b% annually. Much of the city is fullp developed and <br />the remaining developable land is found in scattered locationa <br />with the largest undeveloped parcel lying immediately north and <br />northeasterly of the subject property. <br />The City of Moundsview is primarily a residential comnaunity <br />and consists of one of the smaller size suburbs in the metro- <br />politan area: The city is surrounded on the north by Biaine <br />and has Shoreview and Arden Hills tothe east, New Brighton <br />to t?±e se±�th, Fr?d1e� ar.d flie small sizz city of Spring Lake <br />Park to the west. Most of the these communities are similar ko � <br />Moundsview being primarily residential conununities. The large <br />Twin Cities arsenal is a military facility lying east of Moundsview. <br />Interstate Freeway 35W forms the easterly boundry of tke city and <br />provides major access to it. U. S. Trunk High�vay 30 passes in <br />a northwest- souffieast direction biseiting !he city. Minnesota <br />Trunk Highway 65 also known as Central Avenue lies about 3/4 <br />mile west of the city. Sanes Field Airport serves prunarily <br />small airplanes and it lies to the north of the city oz the other � <br />side o£ County Road S. <br />Thc City of Moundsview has mod�rn city offices centrally located <br />on Hi�h�vay 10. T'he city is located in school district 621. A*o <br />adverse physical or geographic, governmental or environmental <br />influences are obscrved. <br />
